GOVERNOR’S MONTHLY LETTER AUGUST 2026 Empowering Schools for a Brighter Tomorrow: Brigada Eskwela 2026 By: TLP Noemi Sophia "Pia" Ampong The Challenge As the new school year approaches, public schools face the daunting task of preparing clean, safe, and welcoming learning spaces for thousands of students. The adopted Schools were San Francisco High School and Bagong Pag-asa Elementary School were in limited cleaning supplies and resources to prepare their campuses effectively. The Action Stepping up to turn these challenges into opportunities, the Rotary Club of Cubao Edsa, led by The Legacy President (TLP) Noemi Sophia "Pia" Ampong, joined hands with school communities for Brigada Eskwela 2026. Demonstrating true Service Above Self, club members, alongside dedicated volunteers from the Rotary Community Corps (RCC), donated essential cleaning supplies—including brooms, dustpans, and disinfectants—and actively assisted in preparing the facilities. Beyond immediate physical relief, the club engaged in meaningful consultative dialogues with school coordinators and student leaders. TLP Pia Ampong and the team gathered feedback directly from the youth and educators to design impactful, long-term educational and developmental programs tailored to the schools' unique needs. The Impact This initiative did far more than clean classrooms—it restored hope and created a safer, healthier environment where students can thrive. By actively involving student leaders and local community members, the Rotary Club of Cubao Edsa built a strong foundation of shared responsibility and empowerment. The clean classrooms now stand as a testament to what unity can achieve, while the collaborative discussions paved the way for sustainable programs that will continue to uplift these young learners for years to come.
